Merry Christmas and happy happy New Year to all you crazy fun lovin kids!!!!!!

I can't believe its Christmas time again already. My first in the Great White North since 2004. And this year it is a winter wonderland. They're callin for the coldest winter since 1942! Just in time for Nic's first Canadian winter!

I hope you have all finished your Christmas shopping and are ready for funtime. I'm gonna miss that fantastic English Christmas tradition of gettin together with family and friends in the pub on Christmas eve and gettin pissed. I had an incredible time the last two Christmas Eves. Everyone back in England took me in and treated as one of they're own. Mark and his mates and Nic's mates really treated me just like family.

Over here we do things a bit differently. Its a much more laid back quiet family affair. I nice meal, a nice desert, A Charlie Brown Christmas, good conversation and laughing. Maybe I'll just throw ten pints of Guinness on top of all that.

Anyway, I just wanted everyone to know I'm thinking about you. For those of you back on the otherside of the Atlantic I'll miss you very much this Christmas and New Years. After Edinburgh and Galway I'm gonna have to keep New Years simple and low key this year. Just find a place that sells alcohol and drink. It'll be Nic,Tomas and myself this year. A smaller crowd to be sure but we all have our dancing shoes. And we'll raise our glasses to all of you when the clock strikes midnight.

I also want to say how happy I am for Ciaran and Anne Marie(well, just a little sad for the burden she's taken upon herself), and Lee and Louise. Congratulations to you all. I hope to be present for both weddings. Well, I have to be present for Ciaran and Anne Maries wedding, I'm DJing the friggin thing. Those of you who were there saw her shake on it. I DJ her wedding, she DJ's mine. You can't go back on a handshake Anne Marie. And don't worry, I'll throw in some Kenny Rogers alongside Public Enemy.

That's enough talking. I gotta go catch a bus.

Merry Christmas!!!!!! And Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Giddy up!

Its Christmas time in the city!!

So, its Christmas. And this year it looks like we're finally goin to be blessed with a real Canadian winter. Its goin to be long and cold and white. Perfect for sleigh rides and snow men and sipping hot chocolate by a roaring fire, singing carols and filling your heart with love for your fellow man(and woman). Mmmmm.
We went to see Broken Social Scene play Kevin Drew's Spirit if... Saturday night at the Kool Haus. Its a cavernous venue with a terrible name, it used to be called The Warehouse, a more appropriate name. Anyway, they put on a great show. None of the girls were there, no Feist or Emily Haines or Amy Milan but it was a steller show nonetheless. The new solo Kevin Drew songs blended in nicely with the bss songs. And they still managed to create that warm bss atmosphere.
Wednesday we're going down to the 'Shoe to see Joel Plaskett play his Truthfully truthfully album in its entirety. We're going to see him again on Thursday, when he'll play his la di da album. He's doing six back to back shows for the Legendary Horseshoe Taverns 60th Anniversary.
Then next week we're back again at the 'Shoe to see the one and only Danko Jones show this city what rock and roll is all about. This show is gonna be off the hook. Especially with C'mon opening up.
What else? I got some new boots. They're warm. I'm reading Irvine Welsh's Bedroom secrets of the master chefs and its fantastic. I just finished season 5 of 24 and it was very exciting. I just watched Rescue Dawn and it was superb. Christian Bale keeps getting better and I don't quite understand how? I just picked up KMD's greatest hits and its so sick, so dope, so great, so exciting, the cd player almost refuses to play it. Oh, and I'm nervous and excited about Sundays big match. I'll be at the pub for 8am. Devour a Sunday morning fry up then onto the Guinness. Come on you reds.

Giddy up.
