Hot time summer in the city...

Hey party people! Its humid as a mutha up in this sucka. Walking from your apartment to the corner store is like an endurance race. Like entering the Eco Challenge.
Things are finally coming along with the photos. We've left Europe, crossed the Atlantic and are back in Toronto. That means I'm up to about mid July of last year! We're less than a year behind!
I'm all alone now, in my tiny little flat. Nic's back in the UK for a little bit. Needless to say it's been wall to wall prostitutes, hard drugs, and liquor for the last four days. I'm a bit worn out to tell you the truth. I've told this joke to everyone who has asked me how I'm doin this week. I really need to think up something else to say. I mean that joke isn't even really that funny. I guess its better than sayin oh you know, been a bit down emotionally, been workin, watchin a lot of movies and tv in my 40 degree apartment, sat on the couch in my underwear, sweating my goddamn ass off. But I do get to watch whatever I want now. So I can finally get out Legend of Drunken Master, 9 deaths of a ninja, Blast of Silence, Rabid, Season one of Martin, The Wire, you know all the good stuff.
The other day in the shop I was looking at a boxed set of The Price is Right. It was a collection of classic episodes from the 60's and 70's. It had a small booklet with it that described interesting stuff that happened in each show. As I was glimpsing over it I stumbled upon this line. It may be the single best sentence ever written.
Episode#0861D- Taped 3/11/74, originally aired 4/22/74
"Bob makes comments about his stylish pants, and once you see them you'll know why!"
This will really only be funny to those familiar with Bob Barker. Also it's hilarious that this was the only thing of note that happened in the entire episode. I would love to see those pants. I would love to wear those pants. I mean this show was taped in the mid-seventies. Imagine how badass they must have been.
So what else? I'm reading Into the Wild. The film was superb and the book is even better. It delves even deeper into Chris McCandless's motivations and personal history. The author does a great job of giving you the straight story. He leaves it to the reader to decide how they feel about Chris's story.
I discovered this great jazz cd by McCoy Tyner called Expansions. The first track visions is out of this world. I also finally discovered Miles Davis's 1972 freaky funky album On the Corner. Also this early 90's jazz swing album by Bjork. And I finally got The Congo's legendary Heart of the Congo's record. Oh and I stumbled upon a record by The Lounge Lizards featuring John Lurie. And this incredible record by Sunnyland Slim. This hardcore bluesman from Chicago.
Ummmm? What else? I finally have the opportunity to start reading Cormac McCarthy. I'm lookin forward to Gay Keith comin to Toronto in August. He's a Manchester United supporter but I try not to hold that against him. We went to this fantastic fish and chip shop called Deep Blue. Its located at Broadview and Danforth. I recommend the Jamaican Jerk Halibut.
I really need some new sandals.
And finally I'm hoping Spain are gonna thrash Germany tomorrow. It would be great to see Torres and Alonso win the European championship.
This seems to be extra sloppy this week. Even more all over the place than usual. And I've run out of things to say. Earlier today Nic told me that I could talk the hind legs of a donkey. Just picture that for a minute, would you? What a weird and hilarious idea. Some poor donkey losing its back legs because of my gabbing.

Oh and remember the pictures go from bottom to top.
Bye for now;)
